To make Rina smile

posted Monday, 6 February 2006
I like to make Rina happy, so I've done this meme as requested.

Four jobs you have had:
I briefly had a wonderful job in a small factory covering bits of chicken with breadcrumbs. The only bonus was eating them fresh out of the fryer.
I spent a few weeks working in a warehouse full of bed clothes. A lot of this involved repackaging damaged goods so they could be sold as seconds. I can't tell you how dull that was.
I used to work in a refrigerated warehouse, filling orders for dairy products from supermarkets. Filling up a pallet of boxes of different shapes and sizes 5 feet high, which keeping it stable and not crushing the stuff at the bottom takes practise. It was still quite boring but you had to keep moving to keep warm.
Now I work in an office doing admin work and taking calls from customers. I enjoy some of the work. Some I don't. I get on well with the people I work with. I'm part of a little team and it's a little bit sad to see that the team will soon be broken up.

Four movies you could watch over and over:
Terminator
Robocop
Batman
Practically any sci-fi film, even the really bad ones :)

Four places you've lived:

Until I was 9 I lived in a suburb of Greater Manchester. Then we moved to a different suburb, about a ten minute drive from the first and I still live there now. While at university I lived in Brighton, firstly on the University of Sussex campus at Falmer (a little outside the city) and later on in the "city" itself. Does that count as four places or is it only two?

Four television shows you love to watch:
There's so much I could put here, most of it not current. There's sitcoms such as Blackadder, Father Ted and more recently Peep Show (which is genius and seriously underrated). I'm happy watching most sci-fi TV (as well as films). Any of the Star Trek series. DS9 is my favourite. Don't like Stargate Atlantis though. Spin-off is not always a good idea.

Four places you've been on vacation:

New York (2005) My favourite yet.
Italy - Bay of Naples - Saw Pompeii, which is really interesting. Also saw some wonderful lightning!
Florida - Probably the most expensive holiday my parents took us on.
Isle of Wight - It was a really great family holiday. Can't say why, it just seemed to work out that way

Four of your favourite foods:
Lamb chops
Lasagna
Indian Curry (don't ask me to choose just one)
Granny's cheese & onion pie

Four places you'd rather be right now:

Its not where you are, it's who you're with. I just want to be wherever My Love is right now

Four sites I visit daily:

Blog-City (though I don't read and write as much as I used to)
Gmail (barely counts but I'm struggling already)
BBC News
That's about it. There's nothing else I go to every day.

Holy cow, nothing for weeks and then two huge posts in two days and some scifi talk! I don't think Atlantis is really that bad. I think it just fails to add much that Stargate didn't already have and Stargate was already starting to run out of scenarios to run in the first place. Isn't it weird to see all those characters from Farscape remade into Stargate characters! ;-) Oh and yes, I liked DS9, but I liked Babylon 5 even better!

I have to agree with Crazygirl ... six posts in two days - I'm staggered :-D

I also have to agree re Blackadder and Father Ted, particularly the latter. I really miss that show - it's no longer screened over here.
