The First Night

It's about time I told you all about my wonderful trip. I left my house at 7am on Friday the 18th. My journey to New York went fairly smoothly though we did land almost half an hour late. There were no problems going through security, though those people are unnecessarily stern. A smile wouldn't compromise security. Perhaps they just hate their jobs. They certainly don't make one feel welcome. The mood I was in though, they could have shot me in the foot and I wouldn't have cared. I think it took about three days for my suitcase to appear and then I was finally able to walk out into the departure lounge. It was a few seconds before I saw her, but she had already spotted me. It was the most amazing sight. She looked so beautiful. I was in awe. I didn't tell her that. I should have. After a very brief exchange of words we started kissing. A security lady told us to move out of the way. She was clearly just jealous, and who can blame her? We were lost in each other and the rest of the world didn't exist to us. That's how we managed to miss our ride three times.
Eventually we just went to the taxi rank outside instead. Our driver didn't really know where he was going, and he undercharged us because he wasn't clever enough to read a simple chart of flat rate prices. It was a long ride (possibly longer than it would have been with another driver) but I was in no hurry. I was with My Petal and I didn't care where we were.
The hotel wasn't spectacular but it was nice enough. We had a good sized room with a good sized bed. It was clean and the people were nice. We stayed in that evening. The hotel had a marvellous pizzeria so that sustained us while we watched the TV and had some fun and just spent time together. I finally got to see her sleeping. It was nice.
