Manchester - Day 2

On Saturday we got out of bed and had some food. The question of what we should do with our time came up and My Love said she wanted to watch the home videos of Yours Truly as a nipper. I was beginning to regret having mentioned that they exist, but I knew she'd enjoy them. So she saw all those fun times a tiny me was made to sit in front of a camera and sing. She saw the time Sister #1 fell of her chair. She saw the time Li'l Brother whacked Sister #2 on the head when she was just a few hours old. She saw an awful lot of Christmas and birthday presents being opened.

Later on in the day Sister #1 and Stee came home with Fae. She was a little shy with all the people in the room, especially because one of us was new. It was nice though. She's such a cutey.

Saturday was also the day of the grand presentation. The cake! Rina's Mum had baked a fruit cake for my mum. Rina wasn't all that sure she wanted to hand it over because she was a bit nervous and thought it was a bit weird. We did give Mum the cake though and she was suitably impressed. It's a nice gesture.

That night Rina & I went out with Sister #1, Li'l Brother and Stee. We went to a couple of pubs in town first and then went on to the Fab Cafe where, as the name suggests, a fab time was had by all. We had a really great night and I am so glad we took Rina there. I've been out before and wished Rina was there with me. It was like a dream come true to have her there.

Oh how cute. I wish my husband's family home movies could be watched. They are on old super 8 movie reels and the film projector needs a special light bulb that is not made any more. I think watching him as a child would have given us an idea what our children would ahve been like if we had human children instead of dogs.

I pledge to try really, really hard to not sing that darling song you performed for the camera, hand motions and all. I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable and irritating you like that -- I only did it because I think it's so beyond cute and I love you. Now I wish I hadn't. I feel like I marred too many of the few moments we spent together.

Fae IS a cutie, it's incredible. She's one of the cutest cuties we've seen, and that's saying something. I wish I hadn't felt so shy myself and I could talk to her!

Fruit cake. Sigh. My mother will be pleased when I let her know I passed it on.

Ah, the Fab Cafe ... I've been raving about it to my friends since I've been there. I think it's awesome. I wan't to go again! Good times. I miss you and your family. Im surprised how much I like your family and how comfortable I was toward to the end of the weekend, even if I don't think they're too keen on me -- I was still relaxed with them. Of course, by that time I had to leave!

You'll always have the memories though - and it sounds like you both made quite a few happy ones. I'm sure it won't be long until you can be with Rina again, and make some more :-)
