London - Day 5
posted Sunday, 5 February 2006
And so Sunday came around. This time we didn't have to leave in time for Rina to get to class so we had a little more time. We did have to check out of the room though, so at 11:00 we left my hotel and walked to Rina's where people were preparing to leave. Rina packed up her stuff and we just hung around for a while. Then when there was some drama (two of the girls had mistakenly believed that their flight was two hours later than it actually was, and one of them had gone shopping and didn't know) we ran off to get lunch. Sadly the time came when Rina had to go. It was still a few hours until my train, but I didn't have enough time to go to the airport with her. I went with her to Paddington to get the Heathrow Express. We arrived before the others so we had a few minutes. Once everyone else arrived and started boarding the train Rina ran off to join them. It was hard watching her turn away and leave. It was a stark contrast to the long drawn out goodbye we had when I left New York. The quicker approach is probably less painful but I was left wishing I'd had just a few more moments to tell her what she means to me.
On my train journey home I wrote her a letter. She tells me she managed to read the handwriting, even though it was even worse than usual due to the vibrations of the train. I felt empty then, and thinking about it now makes me feel the same. Being with her is just incredible. Thankfully I have only to wait 32 and a half days to be with her again.
