Days 7 & 8

It's been quite a long time since my previous instalment so let's crack on. Thursday was Thanksgiving. We woke up in a nice hotel in the city in a bed with a kajillion pillows. It would have been nice to have a proper dinner. It would have cost $150 for the two of us, but it would have been nice. Perhaps I should have splashed out. After yet more fun with the ticket machines we left the city. We had no food and nowhere was open and for a while we were seriously worried that we might not get a meal all day. We went to the pictures to see Rent. Fortunately the place we went too had a food court and we got some pizza. We had a good time. Not very Thanksgiving-y but we had fun and I guess that's what counts.
Friday was "my birthday". My Loverly Lady got out of bed at some ungodly hour to fetch me a nice breakfast. It was a sweet surprise to wake up to. She knows how to make me feel loved. That night we went out to a very nice Italian place for a very nice meal. I think it was my favourite of all the meals we had. At the end my cheesecake came with a candle in it. I made a wish. It was during this meal that Rina chose to give me my gift. It's a beautiful watch and I love it.

I know the pictures aren't great. The camera isn't great for focusing on small objects like that. As you can see, the face of the watch opens up to reveal my favourite photo of the two of us and an inscription. It reads "Counting the minutes until we're together again. Your Petal. November 18-27, 2005". I love that. Very clever and very sweet. Just like my love. I spend a lot of time opening up my watch to look at her. It's my favourite gift ever. Rina now wears my old watch. Ain't that cute?
